Soillerie, set within the area of the Cairngorms National Park,is an original farmhouse whose name is Gaelic for 'Home of Light and Knowledge'. The house, which has been modified and extended, is approached by a private roadway and is situated towards the northern end of the village, overlooking the RSPB Reserve of Insh Marshes. There are walks from Insh leading onto the Reserve and to forests, hills and Glen Feshie. Visitor's comment: “We have rented many cottages in various parts of the British Isles, and this was the best one. It was comfortable, spacious, warm, dry and well-placed for views, solitude, and the excellent amenities of Aviemore.”

The accommodation available for letting comprises: Ground Floor - small porch; hall; lounge with open fireplace, TV, DVD and video players; second lounge with open fireplace; sun lounge with TV, DVD and video players; dining room; kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher; wc with walk-in shower; utility room with washing machine. Included in the charge is SkyPlus (with integral recording and pausing facility), including sports channels and the usual free channels (available to either TV). First Floor (stairgate available) - three twin-bedded bedrooms (one a through room), all with wash-basins; bathroom, with bath, wc and walk-in shower. (There is a small annexe adjoining the main house which is not included in the let.)
The house is tastefully furnished. There are
lots of books and some jigsaws and videos. Heating is by oil-fired
boiler and, together with electricity, is included in the charge.
One dog is allowed, by arrangement with ourselves.
Pillows, duvets and blankets are provided; bed-linen and personal
towels are not, but may be hired from ourselves.
Ample car parking.
The owner requests that no smoking take place in the property.
Directions
From the south, follow A9 north and take B9152 turn-off to Newtonmore. Go through Newtonmore to Kingussie and then turn right into B970, signposted 'Railway Station and Ruthven Barracks' (ancient monument). Insh is 4½ miles from Kingussie along B970, Soillerie is 300 yards past the telephone box on your left, down a private driveway, on the left, opposite the little village church.
